Because most plant-based proteins are not allowed like legumes or grains, it would be too challenging to get enough protein for 30 days without eggs or fish. Relying solely on the nuts and seeds that are allowed during a Whole30 would result in an imbalanced diet — too high in fat and too low in protein. If seafood and eggs are ok for you, you can stick to the regular Whole30 program rules and get creative with your preparations of eggs and fish.
